Fat Cat & Hula Hooping (7-31-17)

So P-days are freaking fun!! we went down to Selah and played basketball and some weird version of dodgeball with like half the zone or so after emailing and shopping. I've decided as much as i suck at basketball if i keep playing it the way im probably gonna be forced to ill be ballin when i get home. i've also decided i hate shopping. its way stressful tryna make sure i have everything i need for the week. also after P-day since it ends at 6 we went home made dinner and then headed out tracting and we ran into this group of guys living together while they were attending CWU and we were talking with them about Christianity and why Mormons are different than every other christian and stuff. and they invited us in for dinner and they were having an authentic Saudi Arabian ( i think i forgot to mention but they are Muslims from saudi arabia) dinner and so they taught us how to eat it the traditional way. which was on the floor eating from one big plate (everyone ate from the same plate that held all the food in the middle) and you eat with your right hand (no silverware) (you cant use your left hand cause thats the hand you wipe with) and they were having this rice and chicken thing that was super good and we totally atte a second dinner with them. The funny thing was the house definitely smelled like weed and they had 2 massive Hukas in the living room on different corners (they weren't using them at the moment) but it was super cool.
tuesday was pretty average except every tuesday its dollar scoop night at winegars which is home of the best freaking ice cream every!!! ( which is saying something cause i really don't care for ice cream)
wednesday we had a zone conference and let me just say i thought 6 hours of church was long. but they did feed us and so thankfully it wasn't too super bad but good news is we got our new car that day. and our new car is a 2017 toyota corolla thats actually way nice and like brand new. it only had 13 miles when we got it. and we named her Maria.
thursday nothing super intersting
friday we had dinne at wesco (on of our wards bishops companies, they ship hay world wide) and they made us syncronized quesidillas which were super good. not sure why their named that tho. pretty much its tortilla, cheese, meat, cheese, tortilla, and then you put on lettuce, onions, tomatoes if you like satan, and hot sauce and then roll it up and eat it like a burrito kinda. apperantly its not a normal thing to be able to eat 2 of them. i definately surprised bishop when i told him that. and then later for dinner we ate with bishops family at his house and talked alot about the ward mission plans and one of the less active familes we ran into that were worried about cause they are living the standards at all but they want their son to be babtized out of tradition. so were definatley gonna work on that. but the father seems willing to work towards activity again which is good!!! well see how it goes tho. anyways back to dinner they fed us FRESH sammon which is sooo much better than the cheap store bought frozen stuff that im used to from back home.
saturday was pretty average. but we did like 3 hours of tracting that day
Sunday i had to talk in church and idk how well it went but yeah. we had 2 investagtors come to church which i was super glad about. one for each ward!! we also have been teaching the families about our new tact the swarming mormons which is pretty much anytime they see us with an investagtor to come say hi to us and then well introduce them to our investagator and then theyll make them feel accepted. It seems to be a good enough idea. Sunday 2nd ward had a babtism we went too and i haven;t really been to one in a long time and the spirit was SOOOOO strong during it. it was amazing! then we went and had dinner with the cox's, and then we met with Don who is a recent convert (like a year or so) that we visit every week. he's literally one of my biggest inspirations. He was in the military when he was 18 (navy) and when he was 20 he died and got resessitated but since then hes had a lot of mental issues the biggest is sckizophrinea (totally slaughterd that one) and so he hears alot of voices telling him to kill him self so hes been super suicidal and tried to self medicate with some crazy drugs and alchol and stuff and that just added a bunch of depression and paranoia and other things to his plate. and one day his son (hes 50 now and his son was living with him to help take care of him) let in the missionaries and he over heard them and slowly started making changes and no is a babtized member whose forsaken all his old past (which hes done some crazy things). but the part that i lvoe the most is he's got stronger faith than jsut about anyone i know. He's crusing thru the BoM but has the hardest time reading. He literally takes about 45 seconds to a minute per verse and can barely understand what hes reading but still reads more often and tries harder than anyone i really know and hes just super super amazing!!! i love him sooo much and feel the spirit so much with him! we also gave him a blessing to help with the voices and blessed his home and it was amazing!!!
anyways that was my week for the most part. i forgot my camera so this is the only pic i have hahaha
A picture of the fattest cat I have ever seen in my life, and thought I should document that.
My Double Decker Sandwich!
During the last week we ran into this girl who was outside and had a light up hula hoop and was doing all these dope things and tricks with it so we stopped and like good missionaries talked to her about it. We found out she like goes to raves and stuff and thats where she got into it. Either way tho it was super cool! I'd say she was kinda the typical millennial in the sense that she just said "eh i Believe in like nature and that but not God or anything. If i wanna feel spiritual ill just go out to the outdoors and get close to mother nature." haha which I thought was kinda funny cause she was straight up drunk and everything, but the hula hoop tricks were awesome.  She made me and my comp try it so that's what that was.
