Catching a rooster, tacos, tacos, & more tacos! (7-7-17)

Last Week:
One thing I forgot to mention was that there was a lady we ran into named Devan. Her son is a recent convert in the YSA ward and was talking to her about the church and before we even met with her she already dropped coffee and some things like that. So we met with her this week and last and everything is going amazing! She's totally hooked on the BOM (Book of Mormon), probably even more than I ever have been.  She's come to church and I'm super excited to see her progress. She would've been on date, but I being a new greenie, didn't realize how to or how soon to do it. But we'll fix that next week hopefully.
So on to this week.
Monday: We had this crazy experience where we had nothing planned cause our appointment and our back-up appointment and our double back-up all fell thru. We had about 20 minutes left and normally me and my comp would just go out and tract. Well we both were like, are we forgeting someone? a plan maybe? or something? and the best way i could describe it was a stupor of thought. So we decided to pray and see what to do so we pray and then start driving. Then like 3 minutes later we see a dog with a collar. My comp is like, hmm this is usually a great finding opportunity. So we checked its collar and called the number but it was for the pound so as we were trying to decide what to do it bolts to a house of a family were teaching.  So we go ask if they know whose it is and they said no and we asked if they had a leash and they were like yeah here and so we put it on the dog and then walk out of the cul de sac and then it bolts again and we follow it to it's owner. They've agreed to let us teach them and so now were gonna see how it goes. It was super weird and random tho. Anyways
Tuesday: We were doing service and the lady had a bunch of chickens. (We're in the process of building her a new coop).  Me and my comp decided to start catching em so we did. Then my comp is like hey, I'll buy ya lunch if you catch the rooster (and me being me, I couldn't turn down lunch so i had to take him up on it.) So now we have this hilarious video of me catching a rooster which was super super funny and way scary too haha.
Wednesday: We had our interview with the mission president and that was super spiritual and uplifting and comforting. Especially cause I was kinda just having a weird day that day so it was perfect.
Thursday: We had a 5 hour weekly planning session cause we are combining 2 areas for the rest of this transfer since my comp is finished with his 2 years and has to go home for school a little early they are doing a mid transfer. So it literally took 5 hours for us to figure it all out and that was miserable, but some of the members took us out for street tacos that night and dang they were good. Especially since that night we had 2 members wanting us to eat with them so we had homemade tacos with the first family and then street tacos at a food truck with another family. It was lit. Other than the fact I'm getting fat already!
Friday: We ate at Wesco which is a hay packing place the bishop of the first ward owns and he has a huge lunch for his workers and the missionaries every Friday and I beat the daily record for tacos eatin for lunch (I put down 8).
Saturday: We met with the Abbes and I was kinda just prompted to share a story that didn't seem to have an effect on the Abbes (2 people were teaching but aren't really interested and their friend Mathias is always there too tho) But me and my comp both talked about it and thought it was both a good idea to share, but they just aren't ready. It was kinda my personal conversion story, and how I came to learn to rely on God.
Sunday: Their friend who we weren't even teaching but just was listening came to Church!!!!! We didn't get to talk to him cause we had another investagator with us and he came late and left right when it was over. But Mathias came so were gonna figure out what happened with him.
And yeah that was my week, I'll send some pictures too!
Love,
Elder Holt

The house is acutally 2 houses, and is quite small cause there's a huge like 3-4 foot wall in between so there's not as much room as you'd think.

So here are some pics of the apartment and some bees around it.
